The Huelva la Luz Golf Cup 2008
For those of you who enjoy the challenge of friendly competition, Atlantic Golf Holidays, in conjunction with the Huelva Tourist Board, will be hosting the inaugural Huelva la Luz Golf Cup 2008 at the El Rompido Golf & Beach resort in November 2008.
Come and join us on Wednesday 5th November 2008 for 4 days of fun and socialising, with 3 rounds of competitive golf. The event will include :-
- Welcome drinks on the first evening
- 4 nights half board accommodation in superior twin/double room
- 3 rounds of friendly competition golf (2 on North, 1 on South courses)
- Gala dinner (with drinks included) and prize giving on the final evening
- Car hire (from Faro airport)
- Price £399 p/p (2 sharing car & twin/double room – flights not included)
- Single room supplement of £18 per night
The El Rompido Golf & Beach Resort 5 star hotel
This superb hotel and golf resort has luxurious accommodation. The superior rooms having beautiful views out over the pool and South course, to the sea.
The restaurant serves excellent, buffet meals for breakfast and dinner and the hotel has 2 bars with evening entertainment on most nights.
In addition to the outdoor pool there is a heated indoor pool, with jacuzzi, sauna & steam room.
The golf course, club house and practice facilities are 5 minute walk away.
The El Rompido Golf Courses
The South (Old) course has 2 very different loops of 9 holes. The front nine is quite open, giving you the opportunity to “go for it” to a number of elevated greens, whereas the back nine is shorter, as it meanders around the marshlands (marismas), making some of the holes fairly tight. There are some great views of the sea in places.
The North (New) course has been open for nearly 2 years now and has a fast growing reputation. Whilst it is still based around the marshlands, the course is both longer and wider than the Old course. The greens are good and true, and seem to become trickier as you get into the back nine, being well guarded with bunkers. It is a fairly flat course and worth walking to enjoy some great views across the marshlands towards the sea.
In addition to the 2 courses there are excellent practice areas and a great 19th hole which offers beautiful views over the Old course towards the sea.
