North Wales - Llandudno
UK Coastal Golf Breaks
Acclaimed travel writer Bill Bryson stated recently in a national newspaper that Llandudno is his "Favourite Seaside Resort". Known as "the queen of Welsh resorts" Llandudno is one of Wales's largest and most popular seaside towns. It lies on the North Wales coastline, between two notable headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme with the Irish Sea on one side and the estuary of the River Conwy on the other. In between the Ormes there is a magnificent 3km sweep of bay with a sandy beach, on the shore of which sits Llandudno's wide curving elegant Victorian seafront. The resort still retains much of its Victorian character although there are plenty of attractions and amusements on offer to keep the modern-day tourist entertained.
Golf :- This beautiful setting also ensures that there are a number of scenic coastal golf courses in the area which ensure that Llandudno is a well - established golf resort receiving visitors from all over the world. Maesdu and North Wales are both on the outskirts of town offering very different types of golf and the parkland course of Rhos-on-Sea (just a couple of miles up the coastline) is great value to play. The great links course of Conwy is golf at its best with a championship challenge and wonderful views.
