With its stunning coastal landscape of spectacular cliffs, secret coves and glorious beaches leading on to the inland beauty of the moorland, dotted with sparkling river valleys and lush rolling hills, North Devon has so much to offer and some truly glorious settings for its local golf courses.
In an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, nestling snugly amongst the rugged cliffs of the majestic Atlantic coast lies the town of Ilfracombe. With its charming natural harbour, array of shops, cafes and bars, the town has a laidback, almost continental atmosphere. Nearby there are many spectacular beaches, with Woolacombe and Saunton Sands being two of the best known, where the vast expanse of flat sand stretches for miles and is backed by massive sand dunes.
Golf:- The 2 courses at Saunton are great challenges and both are in the Top 100 courses in Gt Britain & Ireland, with the East course rated the higher. The Royal North Devon is another links course claimed to be the oldest in Britain. Ilfracombe is an excellent value clifftop course with great views and is one of the few (if only) courses in Britain to have 3 par 3s following each other (the 2nd, 3rd & 4th holes)
