North Norfolk - Cromer / Sheringham

UK Coastal Golf Breaks

Cromer, NorfolkThe North Norfolk coastline is renowned for its untamed, ever-changing scenery, award-winning beaches, classic seaside resorts, charming market towns and picture postcard villages. Much of it is designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' internationally known for its wildlife.

One of its best known seaside resorts is Cromer, a charming seaside town standing majestically on a fine cliff top, with sand and shingle beaches running down to the sea. Originally a fishing village, Cromer was developed into a resort by the Victorians, when healthy breezes were sought rather than sun-drenched sands. Today its streets and alleys are crammed with shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, and whilst the fishing industry may have declined, Cromer crabs are still as famous as ever with fishing boats, launched from the beach in season, tending to hundreds of crab pots.

Golf:- There are a number of high quality courses within easy driving of Cromer or Sheringham. The Royal West Norfolk, a great links course at Brancaster, is always in the Top 100 courses in Gt Britain & Ireland, along with Hunstanton. Sheringham is another challenging coastal course, and Royal Cromer has a good mix of parkland and clifftop holes with a friendly clubhouse to offer food & drink.
