The magnificent new Seve Ballesteros designed Quinta do Vale course opened in January 2008, and has already become a very popular addition to the region. It is situated right on the far edge of the Eastern Algarve, offering great panoramic views across the Guadiana River towards Spain.
This 18 hole championship course consists of 6 par 5’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 3’s. The front nine has strategically placed water hazards on most holes which makes you think twice about club selection. The back nine, however, differs in character, and is a little more open, as it climbs to the highest point of the course from where the views are stunning. The excellent course design uses the natural environment to its best advantage, and each hole is very different in its demands, so that the overall experience is truly memorable. The superb clubhouse with terrace overlooks the front nine and gives views across the border to Spain. The course is maturing well and has overcome the initials fairway problems on the front nine – caused by a massive rain storm (which delayed its full opening).
Quinta do Vale is offering excellent prices throughout 2008 and 2009 and it is well worth playing now to take advantage of this great value but very challenging golf course.
