The Costa Ballena Golf Club resort is located in the Cadiz province, running alongside 4 kilometres of the Atlantic beach between Rota & Chipiona.
The 27 hole course (3 loops of 9 holes) was designed by Jose Maria Olazabal and the first 18 holes opened in 1997 (the additional 19-27 followed in 2002). It is a predominately parkland course, mixed with a little links (some holes being next to the sea) and a little American style, with a number of lakes. Costa Ballena is a good flat walking course which is ideal for all standards of golfers. The Old Course (holes 1-18) is probably the toughest challenge being the longest & a par 72.
In addition to the golf course there is a par 3 course, a driving range, a putting green & approach areas and excellent clubhouse facilities (with normal bar and restaurant for that 19th hole enjoyment).
