The Quinta do Vale course fully opened in January and is situated right on the edge of the Eastern Algarve, offering great panoramic views across the Guadiana River towards Spain. Designed by Seve Ballesteros, this 18 hole championship course consists of 6 par 5’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 3’s.
The front nine has water hazards on most holes which makes you think twice about club selection. The back nine is a little more open and the finishing holes take you up to the highest point of the course. The course design is excellent using the natural environment to its best advantage and each hole is very different in its demands.
The superb clubhouse with terrace overlooks the front nine and gives views across the border to Spain. The course is maturing well and has overcome the initial fairway problems on the front nine – caused by a massive rain storm (which delayed its full opening).
Quinta do Vale is offering excellent prices throughout 2008 and 2009 and it is well worth playing now to take advantage of this great value but very challenging golf course.
