The Montenmedio golf course is set within the Dehesa Montenmedio Golf & Country Club estate which also includes a 4 star hotel an equestrian centre and a small nature reserve. The estate is positioned on the N-340 main coastal route between Cadiz and Algeciras, a few kilometres south east of the the mountaintop village of Vejer.
The golf course is stunning, set in peaceful and natural surroundings, with fairly wide fairways bordered by Mediterranean vegetation and forest, which means you have to keep your drives fairly straight. The first 4 holes are a little up and down but generally it is an enjoyable walking course with some excellent views, especially across to the 'white-washed' village of Vejer.
All of the holes are different and although some look reasonably short, they are made more challenging by clever dog-legs, well placed bunkers and many uphill shots to greens. The wind strength & direction also play their part and, with these all in mind, you will be glad that there are very few water hazards on the course.
After your round relax in the courtyard restaurant and bar for some well earned lubrication and discussion on your round. An excellent course in a beautiful environment.
