The outstanding new Monte Rei Golf Club is set in a beautiful location in the picturesque foothills of the Eastern Algarve, with sweeping views of the Serra do Caldeirão mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.
The first of two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses - "Monte Rei North" – opened for play in June 2007 and offers everything you would expect from this internationally reputed designer in terms of design and layout. This par 72 Championship course measuring 6567m from the Tournament tees is truly unique in the way it is incorporated into the surrounding landscape; with water coming into play on eleven of the eighteen holes. The course features an enjoyable series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s with each hole set completely away from any others around it.
Every hole has 4 different tee-positions to suit varying abilities and there are challenges aplenty with the water, bunkers and surrounding thick rough just waiting to grab your ball.
The price is also a cut above most courses in the area with little change from £145 during the main 9 months of the season. However, the course is beautifully maintained to reflect the price, which also includes:-
