El Rompido south is a magnificent course situated within the protected natural marsh area of Las Marismas (marshlands) del Rompido and has splendid views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is becoming very popular with our golfers and held the finals of the Mail on Sunday competitions in 2004.
The front nine holes are quite open allowing you to ease into the course with a fair degree of risk taking. The par 5 5th (547 off of the whites) is a tough hole, often into the wind, which makes it considerably longer, and there are sandlands all the way down the right. The back nine is fairly short but tight and if you cannot keep your ball straight it will end up in the Marismas. The par 5 14th hole is a great challenge with the marshland running all the way down the right of the fairway and necessitating a good carry to reach the green.
Overall this attractive course is easily walkable and offers an unforgettable experience for all golfers.
When you have finished, enjoy a drink in the bar which overlooks the 9th and has great views across to the sea. Excellent practice areas and 4 star & 5 star hotels on sight.

El Rompido
North (new) course: Par 72
6095m,
5910m,
5127m

The new El Rompido north course opened in June 2006 and is quickly becoming an even better course than the original one. Whilst it is still based around the marismos (marshlands) the course is both longer and wider than the south course. The greens have settled well and seem to become trickier as you get into the back nine, being well guarded with bunkers. It is a fairly flat course and worth walking to enjoy some great views across the marismos towards the sea. Allow a 10 minute walk from the caddymaster at the clubhouse to get to the 1st tee.
